Customers without an existing Amazon account

Please follow these instructions: Click on the link and we will do the rest.

Customers with an existing account:

Signup for Quicksight

  • Log into your account with an admin user or assume a role with admin permissions
  • Go to https://quicksight.aws.amazon.com/sn/console/signup and click on Sign up for QuickSight
  • Fill in the required fields, choose a region and authentication method. The default should be fine unless you use Identity Center or Active Directory. At least one person from Arcanum AI will need access to QuickSight to work on the dashboards and QuickSight credentials are probably the best choice for that. The QuickSight account name needs to be globally unique, so including your company name would be ideal.

  • Choose the data sources you want Quicksight to have access to. If S3 is one of them you need to select all the buckets you want to use.

  • When you don’t have an S3 bucket at this stage, You can create the bucket later and enable S3 and select buckets from Quicksight itself.  Otherwise please move onto the next point

Following are the steps to perform this action

    1. Go to Quicksight → Click the person icon in top right corner, select "Manage Quicksight". Go to "Security and Permissions" tab, there you could manage access to AWS services.
    2. Click on Manage button, then you could see "Allow access and autodiscovery for these resources". You can enable S3 and provide access to the required bucket. Note : Permissions apply to the bucket level, not the folder level.
  • You can probably deselect this:

  • click on Finish

Creating users

The user who signed up for Quicksight will have admin privileges in Quicksight and will be able to create new users.

Users without AWS access can be added under Manage Quicksight (click the person icon in the top-right corner) → Invite Users. Enter the mail addresses and click the + button to add them to the table where you can assign a role. You’ll need to add [email protected] as admin:

Users with AWS access can just go to Quicksight in the AWS console (under Services, top left corner) and a user will be added automatically.
