The app extracts content from resumes, evaluates candidates based on skills, experience, and education, and provides comprehensive assessments to help you identify the best candidates for your positions.

What It Does

The Candidate Screening app:

  • Extracts and analyzes content from resumes
  • Matches candidate qualifications against your company profile and job requirements
  • Evaluates candidates on skills, experience, and education
  • Assigns an overall score to each candidate
  • Provides detailed feedback and recommendations
  • Generates a consolidated ranking of all candidates in CSV format

Getting Started

Accessing the App

  1. Log in to your Numa platform
  2. Navigate to the Applications dashboard
  3. Locate and select the "Candidate Screening" app

Step-by-Step Usage

The app guides you through a simple four-step process:

  1. Upload Candidate Documents: Upload the resumes of candidates you want to evaluate (each file is treated as a separate candidate).
  2. Enter Company Profile: Provide information about your company, culture, and values.
  3. Define Job Requirements: Specify the skills, experience, and qualifications needed for the position.
  4. Process Candidates: Start the automated screening process by clicking on the 'Run app' button.

Input Details

Resume Upload

  • Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT
  • Multiple uploads: You can upload multiple resumes in a single session

Company Profile

In the Company Profile section, include information such as:

  • Company name and industry
  • Company size and structure
  • Values and mission statement
  • Company culture and work environment
  • Benefits and perks

Example:

CompanyXYZ is a mid-sized technology firm with 200 employees specializing in cloud solutions. We value innovation, collaboration, and work-life balance. Our company culture emphasizes continuous learning and professional growth.

Job Requirements

In the Job Requirements section, include details like:

  • Job title and department
  • Required technical and soft skills
  • Minimum years of experience
  • Education requirements
  • Certifications needed
  • Responsibilities and duties

Example:

Position: Senior Software Developer
Required Skills: Java, Spring Boot, AWS, CI/CD, Microservices
Experience: 5+ years in software development, 3+ years with cloud technologies
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable applications, mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams

After processing, the app generates a comprehensive candidate assessment with:

For each candidate, the app evaluates:

  • Skills Match: Identifies required skills present and missing in the candidate's profile
  • Experience Match: Analyzes years of experience and relevance to the position

Tips for Best Results

  1. Be Specific in Job Requirements: Clearly define all required skills, experience levels, and qualifications
  2. Provide Comprehensive Company Information: The more details about your company, the better the app can assess cultural and organizational fit
  3. Use Standard Resume Formats: For optimal text extraction, encourage candidates to submit resumes in standard formats
  4. Review All Output Fields: The app provides extensive data points beyond just overall score - reviewing all fields gives a more comprehensive understanding of each candidate

Limitations

  • The app currently only processes text content from resumes and does not analyze images or complex formatting
  • Cover letter functionality is not yet available in the current version (coming soon)
  • The app evaluates based on stated qualifications and may not fully assess soft skills or culture fit
  • Very long or unusually formatted resumes may not be processed optimally
  • The app is designed to assist in screening but should not replace human judgment in hiring decisions

Interpreting Results

Score Interpretation

Scores are interpreted on a scale of 1-100 with 100 being the best match. E.g.

  • 90-100: Excellent match for the position

Recommendations

The app provides one of the following recommendations:

  • Highly Recommended: Candidate exceeds most requirements
  • Recommended: Candidate meets most key requirements
  • Consider with Reservations: Candidate meets some requirements but has notable gaps
  • Not Recommended: Candidate does not meet critical requirements
